Currently companies and their directors are liable under the:
Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act 2007
If an organisation to which this applies is guilty of an offence in the way in which its activities are managed or organised causes a person’s death, and amounts to a gross breach of a relevant duty of care owed by the organisation to the deceased.
Penalties will include unlimited fines, remedial orders and publicity orders.

All road deaths are now investigated as if they are unlawful killings.
